I have a question..... if these guys are scoring that many goals obviously their teams are shutting down their not so great opposition. Doesn't their team have a bench to play? He should be the first person pulled to give others a chance for playtime. At least thats how we do it. Once we're up by 3 or 4, subs come in. Could you imagine if we didn't sub against a team like Shaw? Instead of 10-0 it could have been 20-0. Or Holy Cross? 8-0 with the subs in. That's horrible and nothing to brag about! Or how about requiring the players to complete at least 10 passes before even attempting to score.
Or the other thought.... doesn't their team have anybody else that can put the ball in the net? Is he the only go to guy?

that's exactly why i mentioned how he's come up big in important games, not just scored easy goals.

I think Eric Johnson has something like 38 goals. He's scored 12 in the past 2 games against Natchitoches Central and Southwood. Still has Huntington to go so I imagine he'll get somewhere around 45 maybe?

hey phssoccer16, i think the coach should be ashamed of himself for having any of his players score 6 goals in a game, unless it was a very close game, which i am sure those two game weren't. thats why this thread is crazy. scoring goals against a good team might say something but scoring 6 goals in not 1 but 2 games is just padding stats. it means nothing!

I think Eric Johnson has something like 38 goals. ...haha could it be someone's upset that after they finished their season they dropped out of first? (don't be too worried, you won't have too much competition next year) I think though, however you look at who he scored against, Eric deserved to be the topscorer this year, as he did come up big repeatedly when Magnet needed a goal. And to add to that, it's not like magnet has run the score up very much on any opponent this year. Yes, the scores have been lopsided, but Magnet's refrained from going as far as most, unlike any of the other top teams in the district, Magnet's not reached double digits against a team. Not criticizing any particular teams, just saying that this team isn't going out the last few games to try and score as many as possible without stopping.

Sebastian Torrado scored his 27th goal tonight--that gives him 93 for his career.

Speaking of running up scores in the Shreveport/Bossier area – take a few minutes to check the scores on the top teams in that area (Caddo, Shreve, Byrd, Airline, and Parkway) on Coachray’s ‘Schedules and Results’ thread. You won’t see a double-digit score for Caddo for any game. You’ll find multiple cases for all the others. As far as who scored all those goals when the game was well in hand, there’s no public record of those, but I’ll bet Eric Johnson’s name is lowest on that list - maybe 6 or 7 goals all season after a 3 or 4 goal differential. It was unfortunate that all but two of Caddo’s games in January have been worthless as far as preparing for the playoffs, and what do you do – sit your striker for those games or tell him not to shoot for a month and hope he still has his touch in February?

I am all for changing this topic to game tyeing or game winning goals. Running up the score on weaker teams prove nothing. Good luck to all teams this post season. Play your hearts out and walk off the field with your heads held high, win or lose.

For most teams that run up the score (atleast the ones i know of), the starters score maybe half the goals and then are subbed and let the freshman play and get used to the game and give them a chance to score. Regarding Eric, he has many quality goals and from my knowledge he didn't have many goals against weaker teams until last week. I think that it was somewhat pointless in the fact that his post-season honors will not change due to the fact that he is leading goal scorer but if thats something he wants to have then let him end his senior year on a great note. And for Barcelona he never once said he was better than anyone for scoring so many goals and he got all-city last year as a sophmore and didn't win the top-scorer so I don't think he is mad or worried at all. Sure, he plays weaker teams but is he supposed to not score when he gets oppurtunities? Maybe you will also note that he is one of the leading assisters too. Really, goals don't mean much unless you're season is full of quality teams, which is not the case in any district of louisiana

shane jones finished with 39 goals and bruce bordelon finished with 23 goals and 18 or 19 assists (both play for Bolton)...the quality of play was decent enough for their talent to show
