Catholic plays at home. One of the C dad's described their team yesterday to me as "The Queen of the Pigs"-- It often looks ugly, but they get the job done. I'll stick with them one more round.
Catholic 3 Shreve 1

should be a good defensive game. catholic has not given up more than 2 goals all season and shreve has only a couple of times.

Goatman, I thought Catholic High was your favorite team outside District 3??? Still remember that classic Acadiana - Catholic playoff game 3 years ago?

Fair enough. Hope both teams play to their potential and outside forces such as weather, field conditions, bad calls, etc do not factor into the outcome. I believe Catholic may be a player down from an injury in the Comeaux game. However, I am going with a 2-1 Catholic win, but it will be a close game either way.

Catholic's home games are played at Burbank Soccer Complex and there have been few games there in the past few months. If there is no bad weather before Wednesday, the fields should be in good condition.

Burbank is a small complex, so it may suit Catholic since Shreve and Magnet like to spread it out at Independence. I saw Catholic play vs. Vandebilt at the St. Pauls tourney... their offense isn't bad at all, but it just seems like their defense isn't very stout. Maybe they haven't let up as many goals due to their lack of good district teams, but Shreve has good ball movement when they want to play. Their defense is pretty stout as well as their offense, so I'm going with 3-1 Shreve.

Goatman - from my perspecitive the Comeaux Catholic game was physical, but what would be expected for a playoff game. For the parts of the game I saw, Comeaux defense did seem to use a number of sliding tackles, which is always a little risky from both sides and one did result in an injury, which appeared at the time to be significant. I certaily do not believe it was deliberate. What was a little disappointing was a few comments from one or two of the players (see previous posts on a different thread) but I would suspect this was probably out of frustration and not reflective of the players or the program. I believe soccergeak and goal worked this out on a thread on that game.
