Those are all of the second team. You have to receive a minimum number of votes to be on the team...

I think Michael Hollier should have been 1st team no doubt. He should be automatic next year. Congratulations to all on a year well done.

Yeah, I remember he dominated us when we played the playoff game against TCH. He's a talented kid. Feel bad that he got the short end of the stick this year.

All State Process
1. Coach joins LHSSCA - receives nomination form. Has to decide who to nominate and send it in on time. If they don't do this then their players don't get nominated, UNLESS someone from another team nominates their players. (My personal thoughts are the MORE players you nominate from your team, then you do a diservice to them. The votes will be spread out amongst them and then you decrease the chances of any of them making the team. MAYBE you feel that your entire team should be ALL STATE that's fine, but no one else will, that's a fact. The coach should be very selective with this honor to give his guys a chance to get voted for. There are TONS of good players spread out across the state and they aren't all located on one team.)If you didn't make the list it might not be that you weren't selected it might be that you were not ever nominated...so we weren't given the option to vote for you.
2. The coach must actually VOTE when he receives the Ballot and get it in on time. In Div. I twice as many coaches voted than in Div. II and 3. And the numbers aren't that big comparatively speaking to the numbers of teams in the state. This is where the problem is...it's not with the coaches that ARE voting. They are doing their job...its with the ones that either forget or never bother to vote. I encourage ALL coaches to vote...even if they don't have players nominated themselves they can still HELP select players that SHOULD be on the team.

Just as I stated in another thread.
Only the Coaches from Vandy and Tuerling's district, and maybe one or two more voted.
Terrible.

I just think coaches need to understand that voting for All District, All Metro, and All State is a responsibility...it's part of their job...even if they don't have people on the team they make it a more legitimate process.
I think fans/players need to understand that this will NEVER be a perfect process (my opinion). There are too many great players in the state and the coaches can't see them all. AS a player do not EXPECT one of these honors....rate yourself on the performance you give and the praises you get from those CLOSEST to you. If you happen to be selected then it's an extra honor...it doesn't discredit you if you aren't selected.

The system of choosing the BEST in the state is not valid. Especially when the 2 teams in the state finals make up 90% of the first team. It should be a requirement that you have to vote if you are allowed to coach. I'll put up the $20 if anyone can't afford it.

Membership is higher than it ever was... it isn't the membership, it's the responsibilty to vote. Girls coaches put us to shame this year in Division II and III. Especially Division II.

For me, its not about who's on the list necessarily, but when you look at this list, it just looks so unprofessional. If we were to go look at All-State lists from Texas or California, they wouldn't look nearly as bad. Even if a player needs a certain number of votes to be selected, don't you think we could at least complete the second team?
This is terrible. If we, Louisiana, want to be taken seriously as a legit soccer state, then we can't produce nonsense such as this.
