I think the power points system is fine except for two small issues First--I agree that a losing team should not receive more power points than the winner--but only for district games. District games are "mandated", so almost all sharks in each district are somewhat "forced" to play minnows. Outside of district play, all games are elective--even in tournaments(most have different levels of play, and coaches are usually asked what level they want)--the PR gain or loss from those games should count however it falls out. Second--I think we have a budding issue with playing games vs out of state teams. While these games count towards the 15 game minimum for the playoffs, they DO NOT count for PR. Teams that go out of state to play have the "protection" of not taking a negative PR hit by a loss to an out of state team, while still getting the benefit of the game towards their total. I will acknowledge that a) teams that play out of state teams also don't get the PR benefit of beating those teams, and b)most times LA teams travel out of state it is to seek higher competition. Still, I feel like this is a way to manipulate the PR by playing a carefully selected few teams in-state across a limited amount of games to maximize return on those games, thus potentially inflating their PR artificially. Yes you don't get the benefit of beating out of state teams, but you are exposed to the risk of losing to them. Both these items need to be fixed. For the record, I dont believe in the need for districts either. Serves no purpose anymore Do any LHSAA sports receive power points for out of state games? I dont believe so. I'll have to do more research on that. Id also have to research the impact of minimum game # requirements to other sports as well

Hear a lot about the GKs in this district, mainly from Ray. Given that Dutchtown has given up 0 goals and Denham has given up 1, who is the best GK in this district? That's a d@mn good question which I assume would be split evenly three ways... Purple/Gold, Purple/White, and Green/Yellow... I have watched all 3 since their socks were longer than their legs and I wouldn't be upset to have any of the three. All 3 have the ability to play after HS if that is what is in their hearts. funny autocorrect While I am partial to my man Charlton McMorris, I have to agree. All three are excellent. I've been privileged to coach McMorris in HS and Tate Fuentes in Club and I think they are both excellent--both are great kids as well. Basing it on goals allowed may be misleading though, as Dutchtown and DSHS have much higher level player pools in front of their GKS than we do at Walker. I think McMorris' performances this week vs Dtown and Denham Springs, despite giving up 3 goals in each game, were both outstanding. Still, I think you could interchange any of these guys and they would do well. Add Deblieux from Catholic into the mix and this years all Metro BTR meeting is gonna be a hoot for GKS!

Great game! Well played by both teams. Coach Warner has done a great job keeping the NOMMA program in the top tier. Very impressed with their team today. We thank them for making the trip!

Definitely the biggest game of the season so far. Arguably the two best teams currently in the state

Capitol is playing JV. Their coach made a few errors and added games as varsity. They only have about 13 kids. We played them with our JV and won 4-1
St Charles Catholic was delayed with football
Plaquemine has struggled for the last few years to field and maintain a team

Pretty short list already. Indication of parity? Div I Denham Springs Div II Holy Cross Belle Chasse Div III Sophie B. Wright Div IV Newman Episcopal of Acadiana Note: Excluded teams who haven’t played a game yet. Source: geauxpreps.com/power-ratings-boys-soccer/No parity, still close to the beginning of the system come Mid Season Teams will be be better situated on Rankings I agree to some extent. Once every team has at least 8 games in then we will see records rankings and polls even out.

12/2 Non district
@walker 3 Zachary 2
Hard fought amazing game. Score was 0-0 at half. 2 ties, 3 lead changes, 3 pks, about 7 yellow cards, 1 red. big keeper saves, golazo goals. Everything you would want in a HS soccer game. After the match despite the two teams beating each other's brains in, there was nothing but class and sportsmanship. #4 for Zachary is a pure BEAST!
Another fantastic game by Walker GK Charlton McMorris
Walker goals: Hayden Rea (3). Two on just incredible shots.

Weather was awful and field conditions deteriorated quickly. Coaches agreed to call the game at halftime as kids were sliding around and things were going south at a fast pace. Good game for the time it was played.
Thanks to Derek and the guys at DT for the best effort to host a good event.
I have to concur with Joshy C about the weather today--just awful. Everybody at the park--coaches, players, parents, and workers were just miserable
