Vandy travelled last Vandy is home team .......as per LHSAA guidelines What is it that is so arbitrary?? If system in place does not fit one particular program, should we change to avoid the wrath of a coach? True. Arbitrary was not accurate. Predefined process would have been better. The original post stating "earned" is still inaccurate. Jeez.

I just LOVE all the comments about Vandy working their butt off ,etc. St. Louis girls/boys have worked just as hard! The parents have worked just as hard. They were supposed to host a game yesterday and alot of preparing went into that! Getting buses, raising money, etc. Please stop bragging about the time put in as both teams have put in prep time.

I wouldn't exactly put it that way. Both teams traveled once, but only one was seeded #1. What about the Vandy girls having to travel TWICE to play one game? I heard that Vandy was given the option of a mutual site on Thursday night before any travel was done and they refused. So, no whining about their girls having to make 2 trips. Maybe this is why playing the state championship in a predetermined mutual site is a good idea.

Maybe this is why playing the state championship in a predetermined mutual site is a good idea. You obviously haven't researched this or read the thread dedicated to this topic, because it's been tried and there haven't been many good options. I think Vandy would be stupid to turn down hosting the championship. They probably have already put a lot of work into getting stuff ready for the championship too.

Agreed badcallref, I can't think of too many teams that would willingly give up home field advantage, especially in the state championship game. Vandy worked hard and they earned it, and they should not be faulted for not wanting to give that up. I have been to several games at Vandy, its very intense there. How have they "earned" home field advantage any more than St. Louis? If I remember correctly, St. Louis was seeded #1 before the playoffs. I think they'd have just as strong or stronger argument.
