No doubt if you went through your entire game film, play by play, there would be numerous incidents that could be questioned. It sounds as if both teams played tough and left it all on the field. Leave it at that. Certainly, but since everyone is opining about these key plays that really did determine the outcome of the game, I thought a good look at what really happened might calm, not excite, this discussion.

After watching both of the videos several times, i really must say that the lhs pk was a much easier (and better) call to make. The kid flailed his arm at it and hit it. The jesuit one was a great tackle at a key moment, but the ref was to far away to see this. That being said, lhs didn't have a shot on goal the whole game. It is pretty hard to make a case that they would have won without that call considering their offense was not producing anything

GOing back to what soccieriswhatiplay said, the class of Jesuit was there. Numerous players from LHS said that Schwartz (#15) gave them all hugs, telling them to keep their heads up, and that LHS gave them the best game he has had all year. That being said, Jesuit has class. I just think a bunch of their players were fed up of hearing comments about them losing this game because they didnt have Cabos or for other reasons

a lot of yall claim that none of this will matter or be remembered down the road, yet most of you still have the bitterness and hatred toward jesuit from your high school days. obviously, you are contradicting your posts because you remember your high school days. all the jesuit players will remember this year and last year because it is a great accomplishment. as for the ref, its over and done with. complaining about the call and going over videos is not gonna change the end result. neither penalty should have been called so therefore the end result would have been JHS 1 LHS 0 anyway.
LafayetteDad, mikethetiger, and boomboomgoal, i understand you dislike jesuit, but calling the jesuit players our for being immature and cocky makes you just as immature as them. you claim you are adults, yet you are doing the same thing theyre doing. let them enjoy the fact that they are back to back undefeated state champs. yes, it is immature for them to come and brag about their accomplishments but no jesuit player takes this website seriously. they do not care what yall think about them. yall are a bunch of 'adults' bashing and complaining about a bunch of teenagers... yall need to grow up and stop living your high school dreams over again on this site

I'm pretty sure it's not the same at all. I had some sarcastic comments that could be seen as immature i suppose, but certainly not cocky. I never claimed i was an adult either, I am in fact a teenager. I also don't agree with this whole "it would have been 1-0 anyway" statement. The pk awarded to lhs was a blatant hand ball with the players arm extended from his body, and the pk awarded to jesuit is highly questionable. I'm not living my dreams through these players, I simply have a vested interest in their success since I played club with them for so long. When it comes to club soccer, I was the same age as the seniors for lhs. That's all i have to say to such an established poster on this website

Newman and Tyler, these are the type of posts that this board was made for. Don't let the Jesuit pos(t)ers affect you, it will catch up with then eventually. Nothing that anybody says can take away what we had this year boys, we defined the word TEAM. There is no other group of brothers that I would rather lose with, spit happens. We know that we wanted it more and we showed it in the second half. This is one team that I will never forget, I feel honored to have played side by side with y'all. The honor and pride that we gained as a team this year was unbelievable, don't let this loss phase us. -Wesley Menard I figured LHS was gonna win for sure, they have wesley menard on there team!

I hope in the future refs become more athletic to be able to put their self in a better position to make the call instead of being 40 yards away. Also instead of taken it upon your self maybe converse with your side line ref.

My statement was true when I said that the accomplishments of a high school soccer career will not be remembered down the road. When you're thirty, nobody cares about your high school accomplishments and anybody who does is living in the past. It's a simple fact of life. If you're a cocky, arrogant person like some of the people I've seen on these boards, you will have nothing when nobody cares about your former "glories". You can't win an award that makes you a better person. And people hate Jesuit because of the people who represent the school. These boards are a prime example of such inglorious behavior. I'm not angry about this. I'm not upset, I'm not frustrated. I quite honestly don't care about the outcome of the game. I did everything that I could for my team and we lost. That's all there is to it. Patton said it best: "If a man gives his best, what else is there?"
