shreve50, I agree with everything you said. If it is a pK in the 1st minute is should be in the last minute. Now the question comes up again. If this was a soccer specific field would he have made the call? Maybe all the football lines are better because he can't discriminate where to call a foul. I don't think he would have made the call had he known it was in the box. I guess we'll never know.

Until the Jesuit players and the AR pointed it out, He thought it was just another foul. But once he blew the whistle and his AR made the proper motion, he had no choice but to follow through. Tough way to end a State Championship. Someone asked where the ref's where from, they are with the Northshore Assoc.

Stop complaining that Jesuit is a private school or the chosen one in NO. That's Newman, St Martin's and Country Day. They have the money. Jesuit is a good Catholic school with a super soccer team. No conspiracy. Learn who's who in NO people.

What I saw in this game is what I had hoped that I'd see: solid fundamental soccer by both teams with a high level of intensity on the part of the players. I do think that Jesuit was the better team overall, but not overwhelmingly so. Lafayette held their own and I think had more possession in the second half. There were a surpisingly few number of strong shots on goal by either team. The coaches seemed self-controlled and controlled their players, which I appreciated. I'm glad that I made the effort to go.
I don't think it changed the outcome of the game, but the markings on the field were inadequate for a championship game. There's just no reason for a penalty box that the center referee can't see until he's right on top of the lines. (Yes, I know -- it's primarily a football field and it's artificial turf -- and yes, it's been raining. But no, the markings were still not adequate.)

I've had my fun with stryker, but as an adult, I can appreciate his attitude. And that's what it is, an attitude. It's one thing to be a fan, but it's another to be a jerk. Jesuit is the premier program in LA. year in and year out, no question about it. But they don't need posters like you. You can tell who the adults are and who the kids are. stryker, have fun being a kid, eventually, reality will strike you right in the face. Then you have to deal with it.

shreve50 you are a role model for every one on this site. you are grace us with your posts, your insight, and even teach us a lesson. as a kid, id like to say that you are one hell of an adult. thank you for being there for me, trying to teach me a lesson like a father. maybe one day youll realize that your son never amounted to much in his life, but if i was your son i could have brought you a state title ring home for you.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH JAYS TAKE HOME THE GLORY ONCE AGAINN

I don't care if he and the other Jesuit posters talk all the noise that they want on this forum because they will peak at 18 and it's all downhill from there. This is the type of thing that makes everyone in the state hate the seemingly pompous, spoiled, and rich kids at jesuit. I know that they have plenty of upstanding people that come from jesuit, but the only people you ever hear from are ignorant like these guys. I hate to call someone out, but i wonder which one of these guys is #11. he was a tool the entire game and went and mocked a heartbroken lhs crowd after it was over. Learn some respect fool

First I’d like to say congratulations to the Lafayette Mighty Lions. It was a great year; hold your heads high you had a great run. Congratulations to the Jesuit Blue Jays on yet another state title. The game was fun to watch. I think one very good point has been made that may or may not have had an impact on the game. The marking of the box. Whether or not the call would have been made if the ref knew it was in the box we will never know but I wish the box had been more clearly marked. No excuses, no complaints the Lions had Jesuit rattled for most of the second half but great teams find a way to win and that is exactly what Jesuit did. Everyone that reads this board knows how I feel about Jesuit. I would have pulled against them no matter who the other team was, but I respect their program and know that it is the best run program in the state. To all the cocky Jesuit posters I would like to say have your fun but I know yall are the exception not the norm when it comes to true Jesuit players and fans.
Last night I had the privilege to meet several Jesuit parents and I enjoyed the visit. The Jesuit people I met and talk with were very classy people. Two of the people I met were the parents of Steven Cabos, I want to say it was a pleasure and good luck with the surgery and recovery. I look forward to seeing your son play next year.
Well one more year in the record books. The future looks bright for Lafayette High as they played 8 Jr. (Starters), with many very good players on the bench waiting to get their chance next year. As for the “Goat”, well I will be checking the board next year but I have a feeling I won’t be as active as in years past. Thanks!
