With the playoffs getting near, I was wondering what the records of teams in each district are. There district records since that is the criteria for the Wild Card.

Why does everyone think that Tuerlings is still good. They have been getting killed their last 5 games are so. I think they have lost pretty much all of them. As of right now 2nd place is up in the air for District 3. Tuerlings still has a chance but so does Catholic High, Opelousas Catholic and ESA. It will all be decided by next Weds.

In District 3, Teurlings and OC play on Wednesday. The winner will be tied for second with Catholic-NI if Catholic-NI beats Westminster on Saturday. I think OC and Catholic-NI will tie for second with OC winning a tie-breaker to go as 2nd and Catholic-NI as the wildcard. In District 4, Episcopal-BR is in front of University right now, but when the two meet again I think the University will beat them by 2 or more and then win a tie-braker between the two. Univeristy-first, Episcopal-BR-second, Parkview Baptist-wildcard. Probable Playoff Pairings: Bi-District 1-1 St. Frederick (H) WC Catholic-NI 3-1 St. Louis Catholic (H) 2-2 Grace Christian 5-1 St. Thomas Aquinas (H) 4-2 Episcopal-BR 6-1 Newman (H) 7-2 (whoever it is will get beat) 2-1 Menard (H) 3-2 Opelousas Catholic 4-1 University (H) 1-2 Ouachita Christian 6-2 St. Martin's 5-2 Pope John Paul (H) 7-1 Country Day (H) WC Parkview Baptist **its very unfair that most of the best teams are in the top half of the bracket, and especially unfair to St. Thomas Aquinas. STA will have to beat Episcopal-BR or University in the first round; Newman in the Quarters; and St. Louis or St. Frederick in the Semi-finals.

I agree with Truman that the top half of the Div. III bracket seems stronger than the bottom half but life just ain't fair. The top half just better have it together sooner.
The last Div III, dist 3 rankings on this website are: District 3 - 1/20/04
Dist Record Overall Rec Ranking St. Louis Catholic 9-0 Teurlings Catholic 6-3 Opelousas Catholic 4-4 Episcopal of Acadiana 4-4 Catholic New Iberia 3-4 Westminster Academy 4-6 Notre Dame 0-9 Morgan City
Unless these are wrong Ca-NI cannot be a wild card as they are not a 3rd place team. What gives?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Tuerlings lost to Westminster then Tuerlings, Catholic-NI, and OC would all have 5 losses while ESA would have 6.

please clarify on what the tiebreaker criteria would be if oc or teurlings would finish at 7-5 against a chsni 7-5 record,if it is goal differencial after head to head as chsni split both oc and teurlings and had a greater goal differential chsni would go as second and oc or teurlings as wildcard

According to the By-Laws of the LHSAA which can be found at: www.lhsaa.org/sportsfiles/soccer/soccerbylaws.pdfThe wildcard selection criteria are as follows: 17.7.5.1.1-the 2, 3rd place teams in the Div. with the best won/loss % in district play. Next; 17.7.5.1.2-the best won/loss % in Div. play. Next 17.7.5.1.3-overall won/loss %. Lastly 17.7.5.1.4-a witnessed draw in the commisioner's office. It seems to me that 17.7.5.1.1 gives the 3rd place teams in the bigger districts an advantage since they will play a larger # of district games. This probably doesn't matter this year but seemingly could. In Div. III wildcards cannot be 4th place teams in a district. That's my story and I'm sticking with it!
