St. Louis's district record just reminded me of something... I'm really sorry but I must bring this up. I don't know this persons current username but yeah, I am quoting them, since they said I could. Now I can point out what a fool he was. haha honstely....this year should be a great year for district 3. Im sure most ppl are thinkin St. Louis will win it all again this year but they wont walk through district like some other teams in Division III. CHNI, OC, WCA, and possiable ESA all have a chance to get into the playoffs this year and and yes you can quote me.....St. Louis will be beaten by one of these teams this year. Its a promise b/c at any time these teams can just beat the crap out of them. But it should be an exciting year fa sure. Good luck to all the teams in D III - D3 From this thread laprepsoccer.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&n=1&thread=1178Thank you, have a nice day.

Westminster 2 Catholic NI 1
This more than likely makes 3 way tie for 3rd in District 3 if ESA won today.

They will play the winner of the St. Freds vs Wildcard match {which team will be the WC is still a ? but I would bet it would not be the 3rd place team in dist 3 as they would (if they won) end up playing St. Louis in the 2nd round}. I conjecture it would likely be the 3rd place team in Div. III dist. 4 (the Baton Rouge dist. whoever that is).
In the 2nd round if St. Louis and St. Freds play since they will have both been home teams in the first (or BiDist.) round; and since this is an even year; and since St. Louis would be at the gottom of that bracket in the quarters they should be the home team in the 2nd round.
If the Wildcard wins the first round I believe they would be home against St. Louis in the quarters (2nd round).
That's my story and I'm sticking with It.

ok, that's very informative thanks. So if St.Fred's and St.Louis play 2nd round? What do you think the outcome of the game will be? (not just who will win)

Div III. Dist 6. is going to get the second wild card along with the baton rouge district because the third place teams in the lafayette dist ended with a 50% winning percentage in district. This means that Teurlings, ESA, and Catholic NI are all out, and both St. Martin's and E.D. White are in the playoffs regardless of how their games finish. At least, this is what i am 75% sure is what is going to happen although i am not sure about the third place team in district 1. If I could get an update on them, that would be nice, but I think this is how it is going to work. E.D. White and ST. Martin's are both going to finish 5-3, one team will get second place, the other a wild card.

It appears that some of the St. Freds fans are looking forward to a matchup with St. Louis while SFHS hasn't even played (much less won) the Bidistrict game before that. I hope the SFHS players are smarter than that. First off St. Louis essentially has a bye in the first round (sorry Grace Christian) while SFHS will have plenty to worry about especially if the wildcard comes from Dist 3 as the 3 teams currntly tied for 3rd (one of which will be a WC) are all ranked in the top ten. If SFHS plays like they did in the 2nd Crowville game they certainly will not beat any one of these teams.

I just told you, Dist. 3 is not getting a wild card because they all ended up 6-6. They are going to be playing either west feliciana or Parkview.

Wildcards aren't determined solely by district records. It's still up for grabs right now.

what else determines them

as far as i read, the first criterion is district winning percentage and the teams in dist. 3 all have a 50% wp. This means that E.D. White, St. martin's, Parkview, West Feliciana are all ahead of them and will get the wild cards. Unless I am missing something

It is dist. win%. Thats it. According to the By-Laws of the LHSAA which can be found at: www.lhsaa.org/sportsfiles/soccer/soccerbylaws.pdfThe wildcard selection criteria are as follows: 17.7.5.1.1-the 2, 3rd place teams in the Div. with the best won/loss % in district play. Next; 17.7.5.1.2-the best won/loss % in Div. play. Next 17.7.5.1.3-overall won/loss %. Lastly 17.7.5.1.4-a witnessed draw in the commisioner's office. It seems to me that 17.7.5.1.1 gives the 3rd place teams in the bigger districts an advantage since they will play a larger # of district games. This probably doesn't matter this year but seemingly could. In Div. III wildcards cannot be 4th place teams in a district. That's my story and I'm sticking with it! You obviously haven't read the rest of this thread. OWNED

Please post Newman vs. St. Martins score when they play today. The St. Martins -Newman game just finished. It went into OT and then PKs with St. Martin's winning 6-5 in those. It was a very hard fought game and I commend both sides. St. Martin's 1- Newman 0

how are tiebreakers decided in that district? If it's goal differential then Newman has it.
