And here we go…..
Will Pulisic be 100%? Sargent? Will the likes of Adams, McKinney, Musah, Dest, Aaronson all have red blood cell transfusions to increase their ability to bounce back and be fresh?? Geaux Saints, maybe even do some time in a hyperbaric chamber? Drink SuperBeet juice to increase their nitric oxide production?
SOMETHING!! I don’t care what!!
DO SOMETHING!! to keep pace and not be gassed in the 2nd half!
If I am gonna wake up for a 0800 game scream and holler- waking up an angry ass wife……then it has to be for something!

As long as we have the most attacking transitions and our goalkicks our powerful, we win this game easily.
USA - 22 Flying Dutchmen - 16

News reports of an apparent flu that’s hit the Dutch camp. Frankie de Jong is of those reported to have come down with illness. Could be good for us. Could be a nothing-burger.
*drama intensifies*

I have watched alone at home for all group games. I like to go to a crowded bar and watch, but we always lose. Finn McCools is a place I stay away from, because it is bad luck. O’Flagherty’s in French quarter was my good luck spot in 2002, but they moved to West Virginia after Katrina. I lived a block away from Finn’s in 2014, but like I said, too many Brits there stink up that place. Where will you watch the game? Home? With friends? At a public place? Tell me so I can crash your party.
As for our team, I think we need to play a few more updated players like LDT and Ferreira to make use of their fresh legs.
This is another crucial test to prove that this team is as good as any other team of the past. We have already equaled Bradley and Klinsmann teams and we win against Holland, we equal Arena’s best team with only the 1930 team to eclipse.

I’ll drink enough for the both of us at Cooter B’s

We been going to walk ons on MLK and they are opening at 830 but just about all of us are working games somewhere, so there’s that

YEa, I called there and thought about LaCasa as I am in Houma during the games. I live in South Mississippi, but am back in Houma to help friends building when I am not watching Cup. Probably will be staying at home, but thinking of going to New Orleans so I can attend the Tulane game after the afternoon round of 16 game is done.

I like Cooter Browns, but my friends have been watching at Tracey's. I hung out with the owner of Cooter Browns in Mississippi a few months ago. Have the crowds been good there?

While the Oranjes have: a world renown coach- van Gaal an experienced European hardened team -van Dijk, de Jong, Gakpo, de Ligt, Ake, Timber, Bergwijn, Memphis, etc……JEESH -a 6’8 keeper that has the wingspan of the fricking Grand Canyon
Thanks goes to USASoccerboy for posting that ESPN video clip because I really liked what the commentator said. His rebuttal was something like (summarized):
“The Netherlands are more talented, have more skill individually as compared to the USA team but in futbol you have to prove it.”
“I like for the US to go through because of the spirit they had against Iran…..and the way they keep thinking that way, like it’s the last game of their lives”……..
BAM!! That right there, gentlemen, sums up the American fighting spirit! That is the key factor that nobody can’t take away from us in order to win this game!
(WHO DAT….I am already getting jacked up for this game!)

I think the soccer critics have not found why we get results. It definitely is not because we score goals. It Is because our pace just stymies our opponents in that we run them into the ground. It all seems to start with Adams who is our first line of defense and begins our attacks. If we advance tomorrow, our players are going to receive huge contract including even guys not on this team, because the attitude of us being just Americans will change.

“Great moments are born from great opportunity, and that's what you have here tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here tonight. One game; if we played them ten times, they might win nine. But not this game, not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight we stay with them, and we shut them down because we can. Tonight, we are the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born to be hockey players—every one of you, and you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearing about what a great hockey team the Soviets have. Screw 'em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it!"
WHO DAT I love this show….seen it so many times I forget how many, gives me chills every time. The fight, the spirit, the determination.
So who is it gonna be? Who is gonna take this opportunity to be the hero?? Last game was Pulisic….he literally sacrificed his nads…his boys.
I think that Adams will be a beast, Musah will be a beast, Pulisic won’t be 100% but will distract and worry; but I think McKinney will shine and score against the Oranje’s.

The movie was good but the real thing was even better. The problem was, that even though those Olympics were in the USA, the game still was not shown live on TV, but was shown later in the evening and the news of the result came out before the replay was shown. That hockey game was the best national experience I have ever experienced. As a kid who played baseball then, watching a hockey game was a rare thing. Even rarer then was watching soccer; however, it seemed to be starting to grow then as there was more and more coverage of the NASL then after Pele had played for the Cosmos and ABC wide world of sport would show those games. ABC was also covered the Olympics with Jim McCay. Soccer was also seen sometimes on weekends on WYES’ New Orleans PBS channel as they would show a game of the week from the English or German leagues. I remember in the summer of 1978, seeing games of the 1978 World Cup, because I remember all the litter confetti all over the field. A few years later, I got into soccer and dreamed of America being in it having the same enthusiasm as the 80 Olympic hockey team when I saw a 90minute documentary about the 82 Spain World Cup that was narrated by Sean Connery called G’ole. It would be shown between feature movies on HBO. Cable tv was a new thing then and they had lots of open time slots and would not show movies during the late nights. During time issues, G’ole would air and I always made all effort to watch it including playing hookey from school.

Ferreira is gonna run the wooden shoe wearers ragged! I went to the quarterfinal WC 1994 match between Holland and Brazil. Both countries were awesome to be surrounded by. Definitely a festive atmosphere that could have only been improved if the game was hosted by New Orleans rather than dull Dallas.
