Before this gets out of hand with one of our more vocal Tiger fans let me say I was surprised but understood the concessions not being open. The boys parents run the concession stand during girls games and the girls during the boys. We hope to have it open for the Lafayette game and apologize for not having it open last night. It was a missed opportunity for us and a dissapointment for many. Again we apologize. Please be kind thruball.

ladyramdad: How about a recap of the game.... Sorry the season ended so soon, I was expecting the Rams to make it to the semi's. Looking forward to many more battles next year with the Rams.

Anyone planning on attending the Terrebonne-Lafayette Game I would sugggest bringing your own concessions. Last night they did not have any. You would think that if you are hosting a playoff game they would at least have concesssions available. No scoreboard to show game time. Not a very good host. I have been to Tiger stadium for both Tiger and Braves games. Everytime they don't run the scoreboard. They have never have since I have attended soccer games. The coaches usually have watches and the clock is just running time as probally everyone knows anyway. Some schools don't have the luxery of having people who know how to run the clock at the games. Back to the concessions. Everytime I have attended games there, there have been concession. Although, I realize things happen and miscommunications will occur, and I am sure this is what happened, or something along those lines. They usually treat their customers pretty well, and also usually have some type of homemade soup they serve as well. I don't mind going to Terrebonne stadium one bit. I won't hesistate to go back either.

Maybe if you would worry more bout playn soccer and less bout eatn ya'll would have given us a challange!! Careful soccerfest...Keep in mind you beat the #5 team from District 3 in NISH 3-0. I can promise you Lafayette will give you a "challenge", as much as ANY team you have played this year, including Mt Carmel, Mandeville, and Fontainebleau. In November you were hoping to run into the Lions in the playoffs and your wish has come true.... If T-bone comes out flat like they did against NISH in the first half it will be over quick. You're not beating up the bottom of District 7 anymore.... you got one of District 3's best teams and a style you have not seen this year. Good luck and come introduce yourself to me at the game.... I would like to hear your analysis of Lafayette when the game is done.

Change in plans again...Comeaux plays on Tuesday at 5 pm at Ponchatoula. So I ask...where have all the refs gone...it seems that is impossible to get refs for the games.

RECAP OF ACADIANA / BYRD I THINK THE GIRLS LOVED PLAYING ON THE TURF. THE BYRD GOAL WAS SCORED ON A LOOSE BALL IN THE BOX. BOTH TEAMS PLAYED GOOD DEFENSE, ACADIANA OUTSHOT BYRD 10-4. BYRDS FORWARDS PLAYED WELL AND WERE CONSTANTLY PRESSING , BUT THE LADY RAM DEFENSE STILL LIMITED THEM TO 4 SHOTS. OUR FORWARDS GOT OFF SOME DECENT SHOTS, BUT THE SOCCERGODS WERE NOT SMILING AT US . KUDOS TO BYRD. WE KNEW GOING IN IT WOULDNT BE EASY AND THAT WAS CORRECT. FOR ACADIANA'S LADIES, GREAT SEASON, MOST PEOPLE HAD YOU WRITTEN OFF BEFORE WE STARTED. YOUR COACHES AND PARENTS BELIEVED IN YOU. WITH 2 FRESHMEN, 3 SOPHOMORES AND 4 JUNIORS STARTING, NEXT YEAR OUGHTA BE A DOOZIE, LOOK OUT NEW DISTRICT 3 , ITS GONNA BE SOMETHING WITH BARBE, COMEAUX, ST THOMAS MORE, ACADIANA AND SULPHUR FIGHTING FOR 3 SPOTS. GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Acadiana girls had a great season better than anyone expected and they went farther than all the greats predicted. I think that this is due to the coaching of Jan Richard he worked with the players he had and the hearts of the girls on his team. One thing about the girls on any Acadiana team is they might not have the most premier players but they have the most girls that play from the heart. Great year Acadiana

Well, as we expected, of the 8 teams left 3 are from district 3. Barbe had a close one last night but at this stage of the game it's survival. It's not how you win but "JUST WIN". I know it wasn't easy last night, but from here on out it doesn't have to look pretty. Congratulations Barbe, good luck against Fontainebleau. The only dissapointing thought about next round games is that one District 3 teams will be eliminated. And it will be at the hands of another District 3 team. Comeaux vs Lafayette High - should be a good game and a hard fought game. Hope to see as many local soccer fans at the game Friday night.

Before it becomes old news, we would like to complement the Barbe team, supporters, and school officials. On Tuesday Barbe girls did what was needed to get a close win against Magnet. Your students were loud, enthusiastic, and very positive in their support. Fans were very hospitable to the visitors. Playing facilities were good. The concessions were open (apparently some consider this an important issue) with a gumbo that my grandmother would envy. We especially appreciate the effort you made to honor our seniors who ended their high school career on your field. We can all benefit from your example.

I would also like to second the sentiments of nwlasoccerfan regarding the Barbe - Magnet game. Barbe is a classy organization with a good group of talented players. While winning the game would have been nice, I think we all agree that we witnessed two teams giving everything they had and leaving everything on the field.
I have never been prouder of a team in defeat than I was of my Magnet team after this game. Obviously nobody but us gave us a chance to go into Barbe and even compete much less have a chance to win. Just like last year it took Lafayette OT's to beat us and eventually win the state championship, we hope Barbe can do the same this year. Good luck with FHS

Not to rag on Terrebone's stadium or anything...... but for the future
do you think yould move the field over some towards the benches? Or even cutting the width a smidjet? Having a long jump track that close is just a little ridiculous and looks a little intimidating to slide near. Close to 100% of the throw-ins on stadium side were taking from that "mat" covering it. Personally, if theres something that could grind up my skin near, I wouldn't want to slide really.
No offense, but its just a suggestion.

I understand how it looks but, (there is always a but), the tracks are covered with a soft mat and are safe if someone slides over them. The choice to widen the field is the coach’s decision and it does provide a better playing field than the standard football field. The field cannot be moved the other direction due to drains on the other side. It's not a good situation but it's the best we can do. Compared to other fields in our district I do think we have the best playing surface and a nice set up for the fans (bathrooms, concessions, parking, etc.) Most people are not aware that the school and facilities turned 100 years old last year. I would say it looks pretty good for its age. I will make the recommendations to the coach concerning the track runways. No guarantees.

Great crowd and wonderful host by the Lady Spartan parents. The Comeaux Lady's played a great game and never quit. The play by M.B. #11 was outstanding. The first goal was a great cross that was finished by #7 The second was off a corner that #13 headed in. The final goal was off a corner that was finished by a half volley by # 10. Congratulations to the Comeaux Girls for a wonderful season and yet another quarter final appearance by a great program. Good Luck in the new district 07-08.
The Lady Lions advance the to Semi's for the fourth straight year and will play the winner of FHS v Barbe. I believe the game will be at home for the Lady Lions.
