LHS 6 Acadiana 0 Very wet field Lafayette moved ball well and made great crosses to get a goal or two pass an outstanding Keeper (D. Hill). J. Hopkins made a goal off a free kick from the 25 that just made it under the cross bar. M Brumley scored off of a great save by Hill from a long shot by E. McManus that Hill knocked down but couldn't hold on to. Acadiana High had just one or two shots on goal. Half the team looked like they didn't care and the other half played they hearts out. LHS substituted freely. With the new districts next year it was the last district contest between two great teams with outstanding soccer programs and a very proud history. LHS should play Barbe next Monday to decide the district Champion if the Friday games end as predicted.

leobacker , cant add much, except if you imagined a perfect setting for a soccer game, this is the opposite. i know teams up north have played in worse conditions, but not much worse. the field looked in some areas like a cow pasture. it was bad. this by no means is a reflection on LHS, but on the weather. i walked the field before the game and it was bad then. the lady lion shots seemed to be radar guided. i believe 5 of the goals were outside the 18. they all seemed to get the corners. middle of the 1st half light rain. start of the second half , cold heavy drizzle that lasted the rest of the game. Deb left it all on the field, she gave it all she had. The Lady Ram defense played well at times , as LHS took most of their shots from outside the 18. But when the goal box is mud, as both sides were, the keeper has to rely more on prayer, than traction. I can assure you though all the girls on the field cared and played their hearts out.

I, too, watched the Acadiana - Lafayette High game. Lafayette High came into the game well focused and determined to win, and they did. Congratulations to them. However, I know that Acadiana is capable of playing better than they did. What happened?

Monday Jan 29th Games: Lafayette at Barbe 6 pm. Game decides district champ and #1 and #2 seed. Acadiana vs NISH and Comeaux vs Carencro- both make-up games from last week. A Comeaux win and/or a Acadiana loss puts Comeaux #3 seed and Acadiana #4 seed. NISH should also get in as a WC in this extremely tought district.

barbedad, correct me if I am wrong, but as long as comeaux wins Monday night, they are in 3rd. The game Friday night broke the tie between the two teams.

barbedad, correct me if I am wrong, but as long as comeaux wins Monday night, they are in 3rd. The game Friday night broke the tie between the two teams. Yes if Comeaux wins then it is settled, Como-3 seed Acadiana-WC, and if both teams lose same thing. The only way Acadiana could be in the hunt is if they win and Comeaux lose.

Congratulations to the District 3 Champions the Lady Buc's of Barbe Barbe 1 Lafayette 0 The Lady Buc's put one in the back of the net midway thru the first half and the packed the box for the remainder of the game. Lafayette dominated 80% of the play and at least had double the shots on goal but never found the back of the net A large and loud crowd was on hand which is fun but it just doesn't seem right to play music on the PA system while the ball is in live play. No doubt having the "home" field played a large part in the outcome of this game. When you have the quality of ref's that we enjoyed tonight it is little wonder why it is hard to come to town and to win at the Barbe Soccer Complex

At one the Nish - Westgate games the refs would not allow horns. they stopped the game until the horns stopped
