SHHS is not having a down year... We're just waiting to peak in the playoffs... We just seem to get unlucky at the worst possible times, but hey, thats how they fall sometimes and that's when you find out what kind of heart your team really has. Best of luck to DeRidder against STM. I'm glad it's y'all gonna end up against them and not us!! this sounds like someone who is making excuses because their team lost the distrcit title to a team that was supposed to be a wildcard at best. deridder earned that title this year they didnt get it because anyone was unlucky Apparently my comment has been misunderstood. I'm not trying to take anything away from or belittle DeRidder for winning district because they did so in a very decisive manner and I applaud them for that. (And I knew from the beginning of the season that DeRidder was a team to watch out for) I guess I need to a "lol" to the end of my light hearted comments next time so as to not sem to be making excuses. My appologies everyone. P.S. Once again Best of luck to DeRidder against STM in the 3rd Round. I've seen them play and they are very talented and skilled even without Kelly on the field. I want to see DeRidder in the State Finals for an all District 2 final. District is almost wrapped up and we know how we all did against each other, but hey look at the bigger picture... It's the playoff's that matter. Right???

Aren't we getting ahead of ourselves in pitting DeRidder against STM in the THIRD round? It will be great if that matchup takes place, but there is one or two games before that even takes place. By the way, I am pulling for DeRidder if it does, but I will wait till then to yell out GO DRAGONS!

As much as we here in DeRidder appreciate everyones vote of confidence that we will get that matchup, we have never looked ahead this season, we just take it as it comes! Until that time you can just whisper GO DRAGONS ashfan! lol swlasoccerfan no offense taken at all. Best of luck to Sam Houston as well with whatever the post season holds for you. We were rooting for y'all last year here in DeRidder and will follow all our district teams closely in the playoffs.

I probably started that with my playoff predictions on the last page. Deridder will probably play Parkway in the second round, and I have not seen them this year, but they gave SH a greaqt game, going to overtime last year in the 2nd round. The Dist. 2 #2 seed gets Neville in Monroe in the second round, if they get past the bi-district game. The 3rd seed goes to Morgan City or Opelousas, then gets EA. I don't see any of our teams getting past Neville, EA or STM. ASH is looking like cannon fodder as a wildcard, unless some tie-breaker numbers work our way to get the three seed.

If no one else has written in the score. ASH girls 2-Leesville girls 0. ASH is now 7-4 in district. From the stands it looks ike ASH could be fodder either at 3rd place or wildcard. Wrong thread, but does anyone know how the ASH boys did tonight?

CORRECTION IN PREVIOUS COMMENT
Everyone, it was EA that beat SHHS last year in the playoffs. Haven't played parkway this season. Yea yea we all take it one game at a time, but realistically people when it comes to playoffs, Deridder plays a WC then either Loyola or Parkway. And if they get loyola, I have seen loyola play and they are pretty weak. Very weak goalie. I think any of our top 4 could beat them easily. Also, whoever ends up agains EA has a great chance of winning. They lost a district game to who I don't know, but all the teams in their district are not real threats. My predictions DeRidder meets STM in 3rd rd. Either SHHS or Tioga meets Neville in 2nd or EA in 3rd. When it gets to these games it's all going to be a matter of how much our girls want to win those games, because I see all three games being a drag out fight to the end.

FYI...I heard that Kelly (#11) and Daniel (#10) were both on the field in the game against Morgan City.

I stand corrected. I spoke with Kelly's father earlier in the year and he told me that there was no chance that she would be not be on the field until club ball came around. Glad to hear that she is back. Ok now for real good luck to Deridder.

ASH was up 4-0 on Peabody with about 6 minutes to play in the first half. 8 on 8. Engelsman, Mangano, and Williams scored, and it looked like Rich on the last goal.

Tioga 3, Sam Houston 1
#8 Lauren Horton scored on an assist by Whitney Holland before half time.
Second half SH played JV. First goal scored was an own goal by Sam Houston. #4 Nicky Parker scored a chip shot with a cross from #8 Morgan Burlew. Burlew also assisted substitute #9 Whitley Aswad with the third goal for Tioga.

DeRidder over Leesville 2-0. Goals were scored by Kara Slaydon on and assist from Marisol Coronel and also by Nicole Lamantina. Very hard fought game, thats about all I will say about it.

ASH wound up 12-0 over Peabody. They played 8 on 8, then 7 on 7, then a 2nd injury forced the eventual calling of the game. After 3, lots of moving around with defenders up front and JV. Still, a bit excessive.
Am I reading the SH v. Tioga report correctly? They were up 1-0 in the first, then put in the JV to allow the loss 3-1? Looking for an EA rematch, looks like. Still won't get past Neville in the quarters, but not a bad strategy.

It's the playoff's that matter. Right??? With district wrapped up it's as I said before It's the playoff's that matter now. Good Luck to all in their respective games. P.S. I am confident that we can take Neville, and if things work out as planned we will get them at home. All fun and games about predictions aside now because we all know it's one game at a time from here on out.

I think it was a smart coaching move to allow Tioga to win so as not to have to face Neville until the quarterfinals. I guess Sam Houston did some homework.

Maybe someone should tell the ASH team no reason to go to Neville and just save the money, huh.
