One thing I forgot to mention about Sam Houston - when the calls were not going their way all they did was play harder - not dirty or overly aggressive - hold your head high and proud.
Good Luck next year!

First of all I would like to say congratulations to all the teams in the district for all the efforts and hard work put into this season.
A good many of you know who I am and that this is my final of 8 years as a parent of a DeRidder Lady Dragon. I was there for the first season my oldest daughters freshman year when I think our only wins may have been against Leesville to her last year and our first district championship. Then onto the next four years with Brandy #25. This year was really one for the books, Dist champs under a new coach, 25-3-1 record and quarter finalists for the first time ever!
Although I officially move to the boys side now, my heart will always be here with the girls and I will continue to follow and leave my occasional 2 cents worth.
Over the years I have met quite a few of my fellow posters and have become good friends with some. I will always cherish the friendships that being a part of girls high school soccer have brought me and hope to meet even more as I swap boards. Best of luck to all the D2 D2 teams in the coming years.
Pompey, Imthebackseatcoach, and Mung, you guys are the greatest!!
To my Lady Dragons I love you all dearly, you will always be my girls. To my Seniors Marisol and Lydia, I love you like you are my own and I will miss you very much. To Brandy, you have made me proud both on and off the field and I will miss you when you leave me for Tech!
Much love to all, Tina

OMG, does anyone have another box of kleenex, I just ran out! Tina, whether it's getting something you want from one of us (a t-shirt from the tournament, a plaque from pompey) or telling it like it is with sugar coating so you don't hurt anyone's feelings, you are a top class act I am proud to call "friend". It's hard to believe Brandy is graduating when I remember meeting you at DeRidder for the first time her Freshman year when she scored her first goal (against Tioga!). I say "meeting"....more like "who IS that screaming woman?" LOL Love you!
