Barbedad assumes Barbe beats STM at Barbe. Interesting! What a district. Second only to SSA and Fontainebleu's which is tougher. District will finish STM, Barbe, Comeaux (they just know how to win), Acadiana, Sulphur. Lafyette should have a "cakewalk" through their district this year.

To "theonionbag" Honor the Aplayers you praise with language that approaches erudition. What dictionary might elucidate the term "disagreeessment"? But ths comes from one that "i here that Zambrano girl...." Enough pedagogy.

barbedad I am so mad..I had a final tonight. I knew it would be a close game. I heard that my girls did me proud even with the loss. And that goes for JV and Varsity!

Good showing by Comeaux tonight. They came out with a 4-5-1 with only the 1 attacking and kept 10 playing defense. Almost worked....... Halftime score 0-0 with very little offense by either team. Barbe adjusts at halftime and score on a corner by Kim Phelps that Megan Stone heads into back of net. Less that 5 minutes later, Anna Clark shoots at the 18 that finds the back of the net. Comeaux's goal was a nice shot by Z that Barbe defender deflects into back of the net. Final score 2-1 Barbe. JV game very even with both teams pleased with a 0-0 battle.
Side note: Tonights game, while not pretty, finally gets the monkey off the back of Barbe. Barbe was 0-3 at Comeaux and had not scored at Comeaux in the last 3 years (all 1-0 losses). Next up for Barbe, Friday nights showdown with SSA.

Acadiana-3 Vanderbilt-1
Score at halftime 0-0
After a even battle through the 1st half, Acadiana got on the board first in the first minute of the second half with a thru ball played from Freshman Midfielder Katie Stefan to Alex Bacque who completely outran the Vandy Defense and finished a well placed ball past the keeper. Several minutes later, Jenna Rhoads dropped a ball back to just outside the Vandy 18 to Bacque, who one touched it over the keeper for Acadiana's second score. Vandy played hard through out the game, but a much improved defense for Acadiana kept most of their attack at bay. With about 15 minutes left, Alex Bacque again took a thru ball into Vandy's 18 yard box, but was taken down from behind and was awarded a PK. Senior Kristen Gil took the PK for Acadiana's 3rd goal as she buried it past the keeper. Vanderbilt got on the scoreboard in the final minutes when Kayla Chapman picked up a loose ball in the box and slipped it by a diving Deb Hill.
Hats off the Vandy, who fought hard throughout the game. Acadiana is getting some of their puzzle pieces together and starting to show better each game.

It will be a fight for second. Could be Barbe or AHS!
