Barbe 6 Sulpur 0 6 different scorers from Barbe Impressive. I love to see that from teams. Question, barbedad. Didn't Barbe lose their 1st string goalie from last year? I seem to remember that she was a senior? Please, correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, Goalie last year was a senior. Hated losing her, she was a beast! This years goalie is a junior and doing a good job. Improving each game out and believe it or not, she is a cheerleader (uuuggghhhh) How many times have you heard of a keeper being a cheerleader???

I see the district coming out a little differently. I see Comeaux above Acadiana. Even though they lost to both STM and Barbe..the games were well fought and that STM game could have gone either way. One of the goals was called by the referee as in even though everyone else continued play as a save by the goalie. One Comeaux defensive mistake caused a breakaway goal that was well played by STM offense. I just think that Comeaux does not get credit for their game. They may not be the fastest, but they play hard...don't give up....have a great goalie...and play as a team. These are major ingredients to success.

Not sure who won the final between Barbe & St Thomas More. Maybe Barbedad will let us know. Barbe went up 1-0 early and St Thomas More scored once in first half and then the winner in the second half. Final St Thomas More JV 2 Barbe JV 1. Great game with both teams having many opportunities. Two players from STM stood out, #2 and #4 (one is a fresh and 1 is a soph). Both played with great control and won't be long till both is playing varsity. Looking forward to the battle again on Jan 7th between these 2 teams.

STM 9 Sulphur 0
STM played like the #1 team in the state tonight. I saw them play 2 weeks ago at the St Martin Tourney vs St Louis and I had my doubts of their deserving of being #1. I thought St Louis out played them most of the game and left there scratching what little hair I have left wondering if they truly deserve the #1 ranking. Well tonight I drank the kool-aid and I believe. They are a well coached team and moved the ball better than the High School Team that I thought was the best I have ever seen in Lafayette Lady Lions 2 years ago. I am looking forward to the battle in a few weeks and I know Barbe had better bring their A game to play against this team. Best team I have seen play this year.

Barbe 0 Acadiana 1
This was as much of a surprise to me as Appalachian St beating Michigan in football. First home loss for Barbe in over 2 years and do you think Coach Curtis yelled at them at the end of game? No. And why you ask? This was one of the better games Barbe has played all year. Barbe mid field and forwards moved the ball up and down Acadiana's throat but couldn't find the back of the net. Acadiana had no surprise defense formation to confuse Barbe, it was just one of those games. I will be very generous and give Acadiana 3 total shots on goal and the goal came on a cross/miss with an unmarked player to put the ball in the net. But that is the beauty of this game...... You can hang around a game you are getting outplayed and then BOOM, you are winning 1-0. But like the saying goes, I will take an ugly win any day over the loss Barbe had last night. Congrats to the Lady Rams on the victory.

I'll grant you not many thought AHS could/would beat Barbe at home. But they did. They showed extreme class and determination, but most of all heart. Now, I'm not saying Barbe played without heart. But AHS was outskilled individually and as a team; they worked and worked and worked, no one quit, not one got big headed. Truth is you can't point out one outstanding player from AHS, because every single one left everything they had on the field of that fine complex.

Barbedad, I know this doesn't seem like much, but if I am not mistaken, the score for the Lafayette High vs Comeaux game in the St. Louis Tourney was 2-0 Laf. The only reason I am saying this is becauxe the voters may look at what common opponents everyone has played and compare the scores. For instance: Barbe 1-o over Comeaux, Barbe 3-2 over Comeaux, and Lafayette 2-0 over Comeaux. Barbe ranked 5th and Lafayette 9th. They face off again on January 4th, I think! We'll see what happens. Just to start some talk Barbedad!
Good Luck on your trip to California, wish ya'll well. Stay HEALTHY!

Re: Division I District 3 « Reply #56 on Today at 7:32am »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey shsdad...can you tell me who did all the scoring?? Was it distributed evenly?
Dedie - 1 Mary - 1 Hilarie - 3 Jade - 1 Amanda - 1
All Sophomores except Dedie (senior), Hilarie scored our 3rd , 4th & 6th goal of the game. Score was 4-0 at half. Assits - Dedie 2, Alexandra 2, Hilarie 1, Dana 1, Carmen 1. Sam Houston didn't have any subs, about 2 minutes before half one of their girls went down with a minor injury. Both teams started the second half one player down. Sam Houston's girl reenter the game about 10 minutes in but our coach didn't notice. We continue the game playing down one girl. Or maybe our coach did notice but figured since they didn't have any subs we continue playing 10. Sam Houston's girls played hard til the end, they just don't have the numbers this year.
