im suprised loyola is 4th they did make it to the finals and deserve to be ranked at least 3. In Div III i would switch St. Martins with Northlak i think St. Martins is a better team. and only one vote for De La Salle i thought they deserved at least a few more. but i think DLS should definetly be in the preseason top ten seeing that they only loose 3 seniors

Wow, Disappointed in the Loyola final ranking.
With all the discussion on rankings I thought they proved themselves on the pitch. Is earning a place in the finals discounted because the seeding missed the mark on Loyola?
No love for D2 finalists.

I was waiting for this Neville only played 1 top ten team all year parkway. while they built up a great won loss record it was against teams that were not even ranked they were seeded high but lost to an 8 seed go study the results of all the teams and come back and tell me why I am wrong. Loyola (despite what lcpsoccermom says) was the Woodlawn of last year. 13-10 in regular season only 5 wins against playoff teams,(not top ten just playoff teams). Go back and really look at it, study it like I do and put your bias aside. If you do I think you would agree with me and the other voters that these are solid rankings.

Goat, how did you compare STA and EHS? What did you look at to come to your decision to put STA at #3?

Goat, how did you compare STA and EHS? What did you look at to come to your decision to put STA at #3? Good question and this was one that I could have gone either way with. Let me look at my notes,(yes I keep notes) and I will let you know OK.

Going back and looking at it the big thing was STA tied Newman and Episcopal lost to them both lost fairly soundly in the playoffs so I think their overall records along with the head to head with Newman is what made me go with STA over Episcopal. Looking at my notes I changed that ranking twice before I finally picked STA hope that answers your question but really I wouldn't have a problem with it in the reverse order.

I am actually not surprised by the DII rankings. I predicted that Loyola would be 4 last night to someone. I disagree with Goat's assessment of Loyola but that disagreement will have to stand. But I understand why people voted the way they did in DII. Thank you voters for all your hard work all season long. You are an outstanding group of individuals to put this much work into high school soccer. WELL DONE.

WELL DONE. you know i love you lcp! one more thing i want everyone to look at caddo and acadiana I put caddo over the rams even though the rams won in the playoffs. I think caddo was a better team and if I do my job I have to be honest when ranking the teams.

I hate how even though we put it all together as a team and started playing the soccer we had been capable of all along right when it actually mattered, and then made it to the finals, our record from earlier in the season is still coming back to bite us. I guarantee Teurlings is nothing like the team they were at the Copa Acadiana when they tied Parkway and lost to Menard. Likewise, we are completely different than we were when we incurred all those losses earlier in the season. And we are nothing like Woodlawn. Having watched the D1 final last year, I am fairly confident that we would be able to soundly beat last year's Woodlawn.
