Jason Decuir- Catholic-BR '93. Did not move on to D1 college soccer, but signed with Howard University as a place kicker where he had a record setting career. It’s hard to believe no one has brought up Scott Yerby CHS ‘93 & it’s weird that someone would mention Jason before him. Nothing against Jason, who was a good player, but everyone knows Yerby was BY FAR the man in that class. I check this site every year in the winter to see what’s going on with his soccer. I love this thread. There have been so many great players from Louisiana. Such a great proud history we have. Seems like our players aren’t getting overlooked as much anymore. Sir you are correct, Scott Yerby was an excellent player and now an excellent coach. Many good players from Catholic '93. Freddie Heroman is another one to mention.

Stephen Pate came to the St. Paul's game last night with his daughter. He still looks like he can play. I actually coached him at lafreniere for about 3 years or so. It usually was a 2 year gig with club coaches/teams but their success kept us together. After I let the team go, Daryl shore took over and got them into natl championship game. He captained what has to be the best club team in La history. When they all headed off to college, curtis bush-uva, Christian Baldwin- Clemson, Roberto naharro-uab, etc at least 12 signed to play at the next level.

I believe your graduation date for Josh Henderson (Bishop Sullivan) is correct. We won state in '94 and from what I hear he was a junior that year, so your date checks out. Henderson is considered by our Athletic Department to be one of the greatest athletes to ever wear a Bishop Sullivan/St. Michael uniform in any sport. He even has his own plaque in our weightlifting complex, and they don't make too many of those. Josh was excellent. Im surprised you haven't mentioned Danny Owens, who was a senior that year. I think Josh was a 95' senior. Danny was a National pool player.
