Hans Holmgren is a quality keeper ,but Danny Landry of Episcopal High School is up there. Any body who went to the UHS EHS game would agree with me.

DAnny Landry is a good keeper but he would make an awesome save then let the other team score in a really easy goal, so a good keeper is not just about great saves but is all around good so i think hans is better than danny

The Fury and Nosa keepers are by far the 2 best keepers in the state.

What criteria is being used to judge who is the best High School keeper here? Their club play? Statistical information (Shots saved/ shot taken, goals allowed). A physically commanding presents, force a lot of wide shots. Only seeing a GK in your district twice doesn't give you much of a feel for how good they are. Yet, there is another board to compare different Keepers during the spring and Fall seasons. So are these keepers you have mentioned being judged on their high school season or their reputation over all. Have seen Dutchtown Keeper three times this year and he's come up huge when called upon (1/2 on PKS). May not be playing for a big club during non high school season, so may not be getting pub here, but don't think Dutchtown would trade him away for these others that have been mentioned above.

I can speak about the Dutchtown keeper...being I'm the his coach...of course I'm biases, but I think I'm pretty objective as well. Alex Chapman is one of the top5 keepers in the state. I have no problem saying that even without seeing all the keepers, though I've seen many. He's not classically trained, never been to a camp, and has only been playing since 8th grade. He's an athletic, hard working, extremely intelligent player that's not afraid to admit a mistake and then learn from it. (Though those mistakes are few and far between.) He will totally amaze you with his ability to cover the goal mouth. He's not tall, but has incredible coverage. His hands are small, size 8 or 9 in gloves, but handles the ball well. Incredible leaping ability for his size. AND absolutely not afraid to come off and "mix it up" when the need arises. He has blocked the last three PKs he's faced. (2 were finished on rebounds, but he blocked the initial shots.)
If he has a fault it would be verbal communication when leading the team. Not that he doesn't talk...he does...just not as much as I'd always like ;-)
He's started 4 straight years in high school was picked 2nd team all state in 4A last year.
He can be a game changer.

Mark Colomb from Brother Martin. I apologize to those who disagree but definitively having seen who I know to be the best keepers in the state, he is the best. Andy (Holtz?) from St. Thomas More has to be second.

I'm the club keeper for BRSC 18s and Catholic BR .. and i have to say .. Mark from NOSA/Brother Martin is the best ... but Andy from Fury/STM is right on his tail. They've been the best growing up and they're fun to watch. All others are way below - just don't have the training or read the game and communicate as well. Sorry, but it's the truth.

i will say that west monroe's keeper pulled off a good save from my free kick, but i don't think he can compete for best in the state

Chapman deflated St Amant by stopping a PK in their 1st meeting this year erasing a chance at a comeback. Yellkeeper This should be about HS keepres not club. How did Catholic do when they faced D'town? Was Alex Chapman the difference in winning and losing? Great skill and training can't always be the criteria, to decide who is the best. It is the total package. Pitchstalker being a former Keeper himself, want him to be more vocal. If that is the only fault he can find in his keeper, they should go along way in the playoffs.

And don't misunderstand me...Chapman is "trained"...by myself for 5 years now. Just not "traditionally trained" through camps and by the best coaches money can buy, but simply through the eyes of a keeper.
