No Mount Carmel games may be played until the school opens on January 17th. Obviously, those playing dates were scheduled before Katrina but the games were not played.

Thank you for the correction. I thought I had seen those games scheduled in the Advocate. How will Mt Carmel get in their district games in a little over two weeks leading up to the playoffs?

The LHSAA has granted an exemption to schools in Katrina-affected areas to play three contests per week for this season. (Normally, we're limited to two.) My understanding is that MCA will play the district contests against their district opponents Bonnabel, Chapelle, Dominican & Higgins almost immediately upon the start of school to get all of the matches in before playoffs on a Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday district schedule.

Boy that's a heavy schedule for everyone in the district. Not much time to get yourself organized as a team. Good luck to everyone in that district. You sure can't afford an injury. even if a player is only out for a week to ten days.

Soccerrouge,Great job with the updates on the standings.....appears other districts are wanting something similar by what I read on the threads.
One thing for sure...... there will not remain two undefeated teams forever. A couple of upsets spread throughout the district could make it interesting in the pecking order from 1 through 5. It should be safe to say that the winner of BRHS vs. SJA will, barring upsets, be in the drivers seat to win district

A little info on the BRHS v. Parkview game please. Who scored, was one team dominating and unable to put in more goals?

Nice article on game in this morning's ADVOCATE.
Johnson scored twice for Parkview, one on a header another on PK.
Benson scored with about three minutes left to tie the score. Well played game by both teams. It's a shame there wasn't a winner but as good a game as it was I'm happy for both sides there wasn't a loser. It was a fun game to watch.

The only thing I can add, is Parkview held a 2-0 lead in the game, BRHS came back to tie it.

Thanks for keeping these standing up to date. Think St Joes played at 11:00 today in tournament but haven't heard a score yet.

In which position is Parkview's Johnson playing?
I know that she in a good defender, but I would think that she could do a good job in that midfield as well. Does she ever play there?

While Johnson is not affiliated with this thread she does play Midfield. Johnson and Parkview are Division I11. I think it would be fair to say that Miss Johnson could play most positions well.

I dont think there's a doubt that she could play most positions at high school level. What about at a higher standard?
