I think that you folks should let it go. It is over and done with. What you need to focus on is both teams have the opportunity to see each other again in the quarter finals. Each team just needs to take care of their business and we will have a great grudge match to talk about in the quarters.
I do not think that either team (Tioga or Sam Houston) has a gimme game in the first round. Do not underestimate Morgan City or Opelousas.
Secondly, It seems like both of these teams are conseding to Neville and they have not played the game yet. Anything can happen with the weather, that can be the great equalizer against what you perceive to be a superior team.
Simple advise, One game at a time and the rematch can happen. Wouldn't that be great!

Foer everyone that is for a 16 game playoff next season take heart. That is exactly what LHSAA shows for next season. Division II is the only one like that. So next year there will be 14 first and second place teams and two wildcards. I can guarantee neither of which will be from District 2. That will give more spacing for the playoff games. Can anyone tell me why both Division I and Division III play at a neutral site for championship and not Division II.

I think that the point was missed here. I went to the tioga/sh game and am not a supporter of either time but it bothered me when I saw a lot of the SH starters leaving the bench and not playing anymore. There is a lack of class when it comes to losing games purposely and that's the point being made if I'm reading certain statements correctly. Who wants to play a team that's going to give them the game, SH could have just saved the money for the trip and forfeited the game if that's how they wanted to do it. It's all politics lately, I think the playoffs should be randomly generated from now on, so nobody has a choice and they play whoever gets drawn out of a hat. Put the 16 teams that qualify in, draw 'em out and have fun with it. Eliminates this "rigging" of games which really is what it is. Well... once again... read previous posts about the extremely complicated tie breaker that was in place to understand why. in this game we needed to score one goal and lose to get to the position in the playoffs that we wanted. We achieved the one goal and after our varsity (9 seniors) and coaches decided to play the jv for the rest of the game knowing the starters we not going back in they were allowed to change out of their uniforms and into comfortable WARM clothing. Why is this such a big deal??? it happens all the time when a team is up big on someone the allow the better players to sub and change knowing they are not going to play anymore that night. The playing of the JV was three fold. 1. Allow JV a better game/learning experience, 2. Allow starters to rest/ not get injured for playoffs, and 3. Position ourselves in the best possible place in the brackets to advance. Several other coaches have told us they would have done the same thing. I think it's funny that the coaches who actually pay attention to these details are ok with the decision, but the parents who have no clue what's going on are the ones complaining. Please let this rest and lets get on with playoffs. O yea BTW SHHS 3 Morgan City 2.

Neville 6- ASH 0 ASH started out strong, but Neville opened the scoring midway thru the first half. Neville 2-0 at half. In the second half the floodgates opened. ASH actually played well, but the relentless attack could not be stopped. Neville has a great draw and should do well this year. Good luck to the rest of the DIID2 teams, and post your game times/locations, so we might catch some more games.

Parents of ASH girls received an e-mail from Coach Randy about being at Bolton vs. Catholic N.I. on Wednesday night. Kellie Peterson, a Bolton freshman, lost her mother after their win against Calvary in the early morning. Her mother died unexpectedly and was apparently a huge supporter of the team. Kellie has told Coach Stilgoe that she was going to play. He wants to fill the stadium to celebrate her life. If you are in the Alexandria area and have time to come to the game, please do. This is about a lot more than a soccer playoff game. It is really a "wakeup call" to all of us. On another note, I agree with Mung about the quality of the Neville team and how hard our girls tried against them. ASH was obviously overmatched and I feel that they are the best team north of I-10 (at least in Division II).

I would have posted the above on a Division III, but this is the best thread for Central Louisiana girls soccer.

okay, back from the ER lol.
AWESOME GAME! Defensive struggle. DeRidder out shot Parkway something like 18-6 ( rough guess) Parkway scored first on a misplayed defensive pass to the middle of the field. Deridder never gave up and tied it when Jeanette Coronel bent in a beautiful corner kick. In the first OT Jeanette scored for DHS on an assist from her sister Marisol on another corner kick, but Parkway tied it up again. In the 2nd OT with about 2 and a half minutes to go, Nicole Lamintina scored off a header from a gorgeous cross by Marisol Coronel. The defense held tough for the final 2 minutes for the win. Talk about an excited group of girls and fans! First time for DeRidder to advance past the 2nd round.
All the girls and parents from DeRidder would really like to thank the coaches from Tioga as well as several of their players for coming down to DeRidder to support us tonight. It really meant alot to us. We wish them nothing but good luck tomorrow night against Neville.

Sounds like an awesome/nail biting game. I know that's how our last one was. Good luck to Tioga tonight. I hope yall come out ahead tonight. How cool would a Tioga SHHS quarterfinal match be (if we both get there). I don't know if it has been posted or not but EA plays at SHHS Wed at 6pm. Once again congrats to DeRidder and good luck next round.
