Dutchtown and Hahnville were tied 0-0 at half - either team could have scored on at least two good opportunities. Dutchtown getting behind might have made things even more interesting. Two of the best chances were when Dutchtown missed a wide open shot 1 vs 1 against the keeper - pounded the crossbar, and missing opportunities is something DTHS hasn't done much of this year. Hahnville often moved the ball well but had trouble getting close - but had some chances and missed one point blank header right in front of the goal. Hanhnville also had a nice fake on the DTHS sweeper and got off a good shot close but the DTHS keeper made a fine play to stop a goal. DTHS also had a good cross but just didn't quite finish. The word up in the movie taking section was that the first half was the best Hahnville has looked all year - and that seemed very believable from their very energetic play.
Dutchtown got a couple goals in the second half and that took the wind out of Hahnville a little bit, but Hahnville played a very good game for a very large part of this game. A good game to start off the second half of the season - lots of energy. Dutchtown still missing many opportunities by rushing, tho, and not linking as many passes as they could be.
This game was better than the final score indicated.

dths scorers: rusk - 1 jiminez - 1 johnson - 1 cruthirds - 2 final score 5-0 I'm not getting into any further debate about this scoreline, I just reviewed the second half game film and D'Town recorded 4 goals. Not sure where you're getting the 5th from, but it was not on my game film. D'Town will be a heck of a force come playoff time and are controlling the district so far. They certainly proved why they deserve all the pub they're getting in/out of state. Both teams played a tough contest. Ball doesn't always bounce your way, but full credit to D'Town on a hard-earned victory.

Maybe just finally "seeing it on paper," so to speak, made it click. Along pompey's train of thought...Destrehan is 1-5 in this district, their district record looks so bad, but they are such a strong team. Speaks volumes about this district and the level of competition game in/game out.
One or possibly two really strong teams (from this district alone) will miss playoffs this year because of the setup, teams that could possibly make some noise. Yet D-9 (no disrespect to the players, coaches, teams) will send a 2nd and 3rd place team with no real shot. Two words for ya'--seeded brackets.

Destrahan is not 1-5, they are 5-2 after tonight in district. Dutchtown and E.A. play tonight also so there will either be a 3 way tie or Destrahan will be in the 2 spot after tonight!

EA - DTHS game, score above. One moment in the game, that i believe speaks volumes. EA one down shortly before the half and senior captain goes down hard with ball to the face. A couple of DT players screaming at their forward who is chasing the ball in what potentially could have been a one v one with last defender - and screaming for her to kick the ball out. = CLASS.

What is the tie-break order for this district?
Looks like EA, STA, and Hahnville are all still in the race for second place. EA is in the driver's seat, but if Hahnville won out, STA lost to DTHS but still beat EA in the last game, then all three schools would end up at 6-4 if my math is correct.

District 6 Tie-breakers:1) Head to Head Competition 2) Head-to-head goal difference (goals for minus goals against – maximum of three goals difference per game) - A victory by PK shootout will result in a +1 goal differential for the winning team. Ex. Two teams are tied 2-2 at the end of overtime, after a PK shootout the winner wins by a 3-2 score.
3) Overall DISTRICT play goal difference – maximum of three goals difference per game. 4) Fewest DISTRICT goals allowed 5) If still tied:- For 1st or 2nd a coin flip will be used to determine playoff seeding between co-champions.
- For 2nd or 3rd – teams will play a playoff game. Playoff game to be scheduled by date required from LHSAA

Chelsea Cruthird the best forward in high school soccer at this time. She has scored on some real good keepers in this District and made it look easy.
