Hey ihateyou, how can you not have Sulphur in your top ten? Everyone else has them ranked anywhere from 6th to 9th. Seems that you don't have a clue. Did you see Sulphur play this year? They beat the #7 team in the state in the bi-district game. And if the Lafayette players, coaches and fans are honest I bet they'd tell they did not relax until the four minute mark of the quaterfinal game. Just my opinion.

Oh, I definitely agree about that shinguard. I still wasn't comfortable, even after Lafayette was up by two, until the final whistle blew. Sulphur made it to the final 8. They definitely are top ten worthy.

Thanks McScruff, our guys earned and deserve some top ten respect and I appreciate everyone else giving it to them. What's the weather going to be like for the game Saturday?

Man, it has been beautiful here the past few days. If it is anything like it has been it will be great weather for a game...probably need sunscreen, though.
weather.com is calling for sunny with temperatures in the 60's.

That should get the fans out! I'm thinking of going to the game myself. Probably decide for sure tomorrow.

Don't even know if Jesuit should be number three after the CL game, I really do think that Laffy should be ranked higher, however last time i checked Jesuit was ranked the highest in the nation for a LA team, so technically shouldn't the be number 1 just for that.

I think you have to pay the organization to be ranked in their national poll.

The nice thing about playoffs is that is makes polls meaningless. They do make for fun conversation, but in 8 days one team will say "We are the best and are #1, and everyone else ISN'T" Good Luck to everyone tonight and tomorrow.

maddie are you serious with those rankings? acadiana number 1? they didnt even win their district and lhs 4 and jesuit 3 ( my top two) thats totally distorted
1) Lafayette ( its close ) 2) Jesuit ( ^) 3) Rummel ( beat some good teams) 4) Acadiana ( good but go on streaks of hot and cold ) 5) Sulphur ( they impressed me late) 6) Central Lafourche ( im geussing for the rest) 7) Catholic BR 8) St. Pauls 9) Captain Shreve 10) Brother Martin or Northsore ( i have no respect for northshore)
i think that is a little more accurate

1) Jesuit (They are the best) 2) Laffayette (Just great soccer all around) 3) Rummel (They are overrated. Too whiney and with really only one or two good players who both ball hog) 4) Acadiana (Great team, but can be beaten with full offensive attack) 5)Catholic of B.R. (They play as a team, move the ball, score in bunches, and have excellent defense. As one thread kept saying they were the most exciting team to watch this year. ) 6) Sulphur (Stop saying that its a big deal you beat Catholic. Your goal was score with less than two minutes and on a hometown call) 7) St. Paul (Plays team ball very well) 8) CL (Didnt see them play but out of respect for a good season) 9) Brother Martin 10) Carencro

The Sulphur - Catholic BR game was a good hard played game by both teams with Sulphur winning at the end of the game - for which they should be given due credit. I left impressed with both teams. SulphurBack8 may be correct on the goal, but my memory (which could be incorrect - I am getting old and may be confusing the games) was different. I though the score was from a free kick from the side. There was contact to justify the original call (although it was close and in another game may not have been called), but I do not believe that was the issue. What I remember, was whether a free kick, or a throw in as SulphurBack8 says, the ball was put in play by Sulphur and cleared by Catholic, but then the referee blew the whistle and told Sulphur to redo since he was not set when the ball was put in play. The fact that the whistle was blown a little late (after the ball was cleared) and the score occured on the second attempt, I believe may have been the issue and what CatlicBeairs was referencing. Having talked with players from both teams after the game, I believe both were impressed with the other team (although both felt that they would win a rematch). I believe the respect for both teams by the other has shown up on this board, (CatlicBeairs put Sulphur at #6 And Sulphur Back8 has been very complimentary of Catholic, especially their defense in the past). Either way both teams should be proud of its season and could lay a claim to be ranked higher than the other. I actually placed Catholic higher than Sulphur in my top ten(see previous note for reasons), but believe both were very good teams and worthy of top 8 consideration..

well put spectator actually u may be right on the goal i just remember it came from the side and our forward number 14 headed it in, but cath is prolly the best possession team i have seen play and there defense is top notch they are one of the few teams that could slow down even stop chris number 14, and i would of loved to play catholic again, it would of been an extremly good game since both teams have improved and us playing the best soccer of the year at the end of the season, congrats to laf win also

To CatlicBeairs - Rummel overrated?! You don't go 24-6-1 and win the district 9 championship by being overrated. Whiney?! Only one or two good players?! Why do you have them 3rd if they are overrated?

I think that after watching what Rummel had in the first half of their semi-final against Lafayette they were quite impressive...I dont know if Lafayette made good adjustments in the second half or if Rummel just had a bad half...but I think that if Rummel had played the same in the second as they did in the first they would have held on to their 1-0 lead
Rummel is not overrated..they have a great team and deserve to be recognized as one of the top 3 teams in the state

LMlafayette don't you mean one of the top 4, remember acadiana beat rummel 1-0 earlier in the season. i think you have to put acadiana over them because of head to head results!
