well I saw both Rummel and Acadiana play Lafayette and Rummel (when they were in there game) impressed me more that Acadiana did..don't get me wrong Acadiana is a great team...I just don't think that they are quite as good as Rummel...but I did not see either of the games when Acadiana beat Lafayette

Common Goat, the Acadiana/Rummel game was early in the season and you yourself wrote on another thread that you have never seen Acadiana dominated like that before. As far as head-to-head Rummel beat Jesuit in the most recent game played between the two. Rummel belongs in the top three.

lasocfan you are right i did say that but how many teams have beat lafayette twice this year ONE the ACADIANA WRECKIN RAMS!!! early, late i don't care when it was ther is no way anyone can convince me that acadiana shouldn't be ranked thrid over rummel.
we are the only team to beat lafayette twice and like it or not we beat rummel.

oh and to LMlafayette you must have only seen the game where lafayette beat acadiana, i'm sure you didn't see the times we won. because if you did your statement would be crazy. rummel impressed you more losing to lafayette than acadiana did beating lafayette! yea right!

I think my top 10 right now:
1) TBD 2) TBD 3) Rummel (were #3 going in and lost to the #1 team in the semis) 4) Acadiana (ran well in playoffs. Really only met 2 competitive teams but they showed well) 5) CL (were #2 and lost to Jesuit in quarters.) 6) St. Paul (played Rummel to a shootout) 7) Sulphur (good playoff run and were unranked) 8) Catholic BR (best team to lose in the second round) 9) BM (better than some of the quarter final teams) 10) Northshore (quarter finalist)
bubble: Caddo, St. Amant, Shreve, Mandeville
rankings were based off of the last coaches' poll to come out.
Honestly 3-5 could all be tied for 3rd, CL and Rummel were ranked higher going into the playoffs so that's why they are higher in my poll.

1) Lafayette 2) Jesuit 3) Central lafource (gave jesuit run for there money) 4) Acadiana (lost to a tuff Jesuit team) 5) Rummel (allowed Lafayette to put 3 in, in one half) 6) St. Paul (made Rummel take it to a shootout) 7) Sulphur (took another District team to knock them out) 8) Catholic BR (made some eyes open up) 9) BM (Took a tuff draw in the first round) 10) Northshore (Road wasn't hard to the quarters, but did make it there)
The only thing i think the playoffs prove is the #1 team in the division. It does not prove the #2, or rest at all... Look at Division III as an example of this. I think STA is better then the other team in the finals.

The only way Jesuit should be ranked over Rummel is if they beat Lafayette. Jesuit is in the finals because they are in the bottom half of the bracket, not because they beat Rummel. Rummel won the last time these two teams met and were the district champs over Jesuit. As far Acadiana, sure they beat Rummel 1-0 at the Showcase, but let's consider who is playing the better soccer at this point. They couldn't even score against Jesuit in their semifinals. Sorry Goat, you can't convince me that at this point in time that Acadiana is better than Rummel. Again, go back and read your own post when you wrote that Rummel dominated Acadiana and the Rams were lucky to come away with the win. From that point on the Raiders continued to improve and unfortunately, picked yesterday to play their worst half of soccer since the Acadiana game.

picked yesterday to play their worst half of soccer since the Acadiana game. You just pointed out why i ranked acadiana over rumml... Came down to big crunch time Rummel fell apart. Acadiana stood in tact althought they loss.. Their good defense allowed 3 goals in 1 half, and i cant rank them ahead of acaidana because they of that. I do believe that Rummel could beat Acadiana though

yes but they could not beat acadiana by giving up 3 goals in 1 half like they did in the lafayette game... I do think they are the better team, but they to their ability against lafayette and thats why i placed them behind acadiana

Rummel's loss to Lafayette was the first by more than 1 goal all year. Lafayette beat a lot of teams by more than one goal. No one else could do it to Rummel. All of the remaining teams have losses, many among themselves. Compare Rummel to the remaining teams at this point in the season. No way Jesuit, unless they beat Lafayette, Acadiana, or CL is a better team at this point. Jesuit didn't even win the district. Rummel has to be 2 or 3 in the final polls.

That's one more than Acadiana scored against Jesuit! A goal is a goal. CL beat Rummel 1-0 on a PK. It still counted as a loss. When you post, make some sense.

To ease all the pain, Rummel will probably be #3 in the final poll. I think Acadiana will be right behind at 4. Rummel is a good team supported by a very good defense. If you compare the two you will virtually come out even. All the comparisons won't really convince the other side. Goat favors Acadiana so there is nothing that can be said to convince him that the rams are not top 3 or 4. lasocrfan is a rummel supporter and you aren't going to convince him that Rummel will be ranked behind Acadiana. 3-5 will prob. fall as 3...Rummel (that's where they were ranked before the playoffs started) 4...Acadiana (this could be CL but Acadiana usually gets favor in the polls) 5...CL (played Jesuit to as tough a game as Acadiana did. Only difference is CL put 3 goals on Jesuit, but then again they let in 5.) St. Paul may be thrown in there but I think Rummel, Acadiana, CL in that order will be 3-5. It really doesn't matter though because rankings are subjective to who votes. All that matters is who wins it all.
