Exactly!! All of those arguments can be used anyway one wants. The only way is to play it off NOW (wouldn't taht be fun). Is it valid to say Acadiana beat Rummel in early December, therefore, they would beat them now?! Same with CL. Acadianna beat Lafayette twice, therefore they are the state champs. No. We all feel the way we feel and that's what makes the world go round.

Ok now I am tired of this (proving that Rummel isn't the 2nd best team in the state). I'm going to use some tactics that one of my mentors (goat) taught me, which is go back to HISTORY. Last year Acadiana was # 2 going into the playoffs and lost to Jesuit in the quaters, while lafayette made it to the finals. Both teams played close games against Jesuit, but neither could win. The end result was Lafayette being #2, and Acadiana #3. I think Jesuit is definitely the #2 team this season, and most people can agree with that.
There is no playing it off NOW...it was played off over the past few weeks. And according to your other posts (Lafan), it is what happened the whole year...which includes Rummel's losses to all 3 other teams we are discussing.

there is no garentee that tommorow will come either!! but we cant take the games from the past and just forget about them either...
I agree the games were a couple of months ago... and the better team has decided... Yes rummel improved... but every team has improved since then also... Since that is the only head to head match ups you cant go on anything else for the fact that...

I don't think that Acadiana improved that much over the course of the season.

may not improved skill wise... but did they bond better in the locker room and stuff like that... Skill dont mean nothing if all your players dont like each other...
I dont know acadiana and im not saying thye dont like each other... i am just making a point

No, Acadiana peaked in November or early December and didn't improve, really at all, the rest of the year.

i keep reading how if you asked someone who they wanted to play they'ed pick one team over another. as a player i realized all year each of the tope ten teams aer great teams i wouldn't rather play any of them. they all have the talent and on some days rummel is better then acadiana on the other hand some days acadiana is better then rummel. jesuit beat rummel and they also lost to rummel this proves my point.i wouldn't rather play rummel to jesuit or even CL to jesuit. a true soccer player doesn't rather play any team they just want to play at least that is how i feel. no team is unbeatable includeing us (LHS) we lost games this year not that we couildn't have won it was just that we didn't. every team that beat us this year we have beaten this year and if every team that beat the top 5 played each other enough they'd lose to. every team should be proud of what they did and now they are the best teams of the state and fight to have the #1 raning next year which all are capable of.i think both the semi's teams that lost are tied for 3 and the teams that lost in the quater are tied for 5 not because of skill or past but b/c that is what they earned in the playoffs at the end of the season. they all have arguments for their top 5 spot. but this year is over.fight for it next year when they can prove it on the field good luck to everyone i will miss playing against everyone of you.

Los, you are no fun ......if that's the case then Ruston should be ranked ahead of BM and Mandeville..... every way you look at it you can look a different way. Everyone post your top 10 and leave it at that, I posted mine, I don't have to justify....my opinion is that these teams were the top 10 teams at the end of the season......in that order.

when i started this thread i realy didn't think it would draw this much attention. man was i wrong. the one thing i think we can all agree on is lafayette is the #1 team this year in Div. I. after that, man it is tough to call.
i do think that the four teams in the semi's are the top four team, after first place put them where you want it realy doesn't matter. i put jesuit #2, acadiana#3, and rummel #4, (thats my opinion). then CL, Sulphur, st. pauls, catholic BR, Northshore, and bm. just my opinion

Has any other thread gone 9 pages long? A hot and very interesting topic. Great to see such diverse opinions. Seems like everyone had one on this topic.
Goat, I know that you are trying to "get my goat" again by posting your top 4 for about the 10th time. LOL

Diverse opinions?
Acadiana Fan(Goat) Lafayette Jesuit Acadiana
Rummel Fan (lasocrfan) Lafayette Rummel Jesuit
CL fan (suckster) Lafayette Jesuit CL
I really don't see too much diversity there.

I not saying that there is anything wrong with that, but this thread was no longer diverse after page two.
This is the shampoo of threads....lather, rinse, repeat...lather, rinse, repeat...

Wow - up to 10 pages now!
Diverse after #1 - the remaining order of #2-#10. Most will agree on the top ten - the disagreement is in the final order.
But, #1 is all that really counts I guess.
